Mumbai Indians had a good core ahead of IPL 2024. However, the team was not able to bring out its best at the event. Now, the focus will be on further improving the squad for the future. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three former players Mumbai Indians could realistically target in IPL 2025 Auctions.

1) Josh Hazlewood

Mumbai Indians are still struggling to get their pace combination right. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, no one is performing and it has been quite a few seasons since this is happening. Hence, they could go back to one of the former recruits to settle this department.

Not many know that Josh was once a part of MI. He would be the right option to partner with Bumrah. He would aid the Indian superstar in all the phases, thereby making it a complete pace attack.

2) Jitesh Sharma

Jitesh Sharma is one of the former players Mumbai Indians could realistically target in IPL 2025 Auctions. Ishan Kishan’s repeated failures could make the MI management look at the other options.

Jitesh Sharma failed in IPL 2024 but he is a good talent and will come good. He might be released and MI could target him as the finisher and the wicket-keeper. This would give more flexibility and balance to the side. SKY could then play at No.3 with Tilak at No.4 and Jitesh after Hardik.

3) Yuzvendra Chahal

The spin department has been a problem for MI in recent years. They need a settled name for this department and could therefore target Chahal.

Yes, Chahal can be expensive but he can pick wickets in a heap. MI also targeted him in 2022 but could not sign him. Now, he is needed as a senior cricketer and someone who can apply pressure in the middle overs for the franchise.
