When it comes to scouting and grooming tell, not many franchises do better than Mumbai Indians. However, at times, the dynamics are such that they are forced to release some names. These players go on to play their trade in different outfits. On that note, here, we take a look at three former Mumbai Indians players that Delhi Capitals signed in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Tristan Stubbs
Tristan Stubbs could not get a lot of games at Mumbai Indians. With Tim David and Dewald Brevis in the team, the player’s game-time was shortened. Since MI also needed an overseas slot, they had to release the cricketer.
For Delhi, the struggle was to replace Rishabh Pant last year. While they got options at the top of the order, they needed a lower middle-order batter who could keep. This is the reason why they signed Tristan Stubbs, who arrived at just his base price.
2) Jhye Richardson
Injuries have not allowed Jhye Richardson to do well consistently in the game. In fact, in the IPL, he has hardly played. Last year, he was at Mumbai Indians but was ruled out due to an injury.
DC needed a good backup for Anrich Nortje and they have got that in the form of Jhye Richardson. He is good with the new ball and he is also useful with his bouncers. Therefore, he would be a good option for Delhi to have.
3) Rasikh Dar
Rasikh Dar is one of the former Mumbai Indians players that Delhi Capitals signed in IPL 2024 Auctions. The pacer has had to face controversies but he is back to doing well.
He will be one of the backup pacers at Delhi. The franchise currently has the likes of Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed as part of the Indian contingent. Rasikh Dar could also get a few games.
