It will be interesting to see who joins Gautam Gambhir’s team as the next bowling coach. Considering the talent in India, it is necessary to take them in the right direction. Hence, this appointment is important. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three former Indian cricketers whom Gautam Gambhir should consider as the next bowling coach of India.

1) Ashish Nehra

Ashish Nehra is currently at the helm for Gujarat Titans. It is a relatively bigger job to hold for anyone when compared to the role of a bowling coach of a nation.

However, it all depends on the project. Nehra is a fine coach and we have all seen that. If Gambhir and the BCCI can convince, it will not be hard to pull it off.

2) Zaheer Khan

Again, just like Nehra, it would be hard to bring Zaheer Khan out of the Mumbai Indians camp. However, it is easier compared to Nehra because Zaheer is not involved in a direct coaching role.

For Zaheer, building on his coaching career could make sense. He was one of the best bowlers of his time. India needs such cricketers who can operate in all the format with multiple variations. India also needs to groom some fine left-arm seamers. All these factors make his appointment a wise one.

3) Bharat Arun

Bharat Arun is one of the former Indian cricketers whom Gautam Gambhir should consider as the next bowling coach of India. He did not play a lot of games for Team India. However, as a bowling coach in Ravi Shastri’s team, Bharat had a key role. He is responsible for the fine bowling unit that the Indian Team has right now.

Arun has worked with Gambhir at KKR. He did bring the best out of the likes of Harshit Rana. Therefore, this appointment is very much possible.
