Gautam Gambhir is all set to become the next Head Coach of Team India. As per reports, Gambhir wants to select his coaching team all by himself. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three former Indian cricketers whom Gautam Gambhir should consider as the next batting coach of India.
1) Pravin Amre
In the past, many Indian cricketers have credited Pravin Amre for his role as the batting coach. Currently involved with the Delhi Capitals, Pravin has changed the technique of many batters to find success.
With three formats to tackle, it could sometimes be hard for a few players to remember the basics. Here is where a coach like Pravin Amre can keep the batter rooted to the basics, while also coaching them to success as per modern demands.
2) Wasim Jaffer
Wasim Jaffer is one of the former Indian cricketers whom Gautam Gambhir should consider as the next batting Coach of India. One of the most prolific batters that Ranji Trophy has seen, Wasim also played for a while in the Indian Team.
After retirement, he has held multiple stints as the batting coach of quite a few sides, including that in the IPL. Technically brilliant, he would be the right choice to be a part of Gautam Gambhir’s Team.
3) VVS Laxman
He still has a role with the NCA. In recent years, VVS Laxman has also been the coach of the Indian Team. It might not be the role for a name of his stature. However, as a batting coach, a person like him might be needed for the Indian Team.
Laxman brings with him a lot of experience. He already knows the players very well. Apart from being the batting coach, he could also be the assistant coach of the Indian team.
