IPL, as always, will be a terrific platform for players to make a comeback. Last year, we saw the inspiring return of Dinesh Karthik to Team India through the IPL. On the other hand, there are a few youngsters who were rated highly when they started but are struggling right now. They are completely out of the picture when it comes to Team India at the moment. Nevertheless, considering their age, they still have a top chance to get back in the blue jersey. Here, we take a look at three forgotten Indian youngsters who will want to break into Team India after doing well in IPL 2023.
1) Devdutt Padikkal
In his first and second seasons of IPL, Devdutt Padikkal showed a lot of promise. He even got a chance to play for India. However, later, due to fitness and form issues, he struggled.
Currently, he is very down in the pecking order when it comes to Team India. If Padikkal has to make a comeback, he must redefine his approach and that can happen in IPL 2023 with Rajasthan Royals.
2) Kartik Tyagi
Kartik Tyagi is one of the forgotten Indian youngsters who will want to break into Team India after doing well in IPL 2023. Back then, after the U19 World Cup, many felt Kartik Tyagi would be the next big thing in Indian cricket. However, he is yet to realize his potential.
Kartik has not received a lot of chances in IPL while in domestic cricket, he has not been able to leave an impression. It would be a difficult road ahead for the player to beat the likes of Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh to get a spot in the Indian Team.
3) Rahul Chahar
Rahul Chahar was then selected ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal for the T20 World Cup in 2021. However, after that, Rahul has not played a game for India.
While Chahal is still in the picture, Kuldeep Yadav has returned to form while Ravi Bishnoi is on the sidelines. Hence, Chahar needs to have a great IPL to enforce a return to the setup.
