Tom Curran is injured and there are reports that he could miss out on IPL 2024. It could be a blessing in disguise for RCB. Curran would have not contributed much and anyways, RCB needed an experienced spinner. Hence, the team could take this opportunity to sign a foreign spinner. This would give them and additional choice when the squad travels to venues such as Chennai and Kolkata. Here, we take a look at three foreign spinners whom RCB could target to replace Tom Curran if he gets ruled out of IPL 2024.

1) Keshav Maharaj

Keshav Maharaj is in fine form in the ongoing SA20. He is a wily left-arm spinner and also has a lot of experience playing in all three formats of the game.

Mayank Dagar is the best option that RCB has when it comes to left-arm spin. Mayank is inexperienced and hence, he might need some support here.

2) Akeal Hosein

Akeal Hosein is currently at No.2 when it comes to the ICC’s T20I bowlers chart. Hence, it may not be a surprise if RCB ends up signing the West Indian cricketer.

Andy Flower is a coach who likes batting depth. Akeal, apart from his left-arm spin, is also a serious hitter in the lower order. Therefore, this could convince the franchise to sign the cricketer.

3) Tabraiz Shamsi

Tabraiz Shamsi is one of the foreign spinners whom RCB could target to replace Tom Curran if he gets ruled out of IPL 2024. When it comes to leg-spin, RCB’s best option is Karn Sharma, who can leak runs at times.

Also, RCB lacks variety in the spin department. They could change this if they can sign a left-arm wrist-spinner like Shamsi. The South African spinner has a lot of experience and would be a serious option to have when RCB plays CSK, LSG and KKR away.
