It was a surprise that RCB did not choose to retain Wanindu Hasaranga for IPL 2024. His fitness, price and form could have been the reasons for the same. It would now be tough to replace the cricketer for the next season. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three foreign spinners RCB might target to replace Wanindu Hasaranga for IPL 2024.
1) Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Mujeeb Ur Rahman had that mystery factor when he started his career in the IPL. However, after he lost that, he was not able to make a comeback to the tournament.
Nevertheless, his recent form has been good. He can give that edge to the spin department for RCB. Hence, the franchise could target him. It will be a risky move for RCB. However, if it comes off, it would help RCB do well in this department.
2) Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib is one of the foreign spinners RCB might target to replace Wanindu Hasaranga for IPL 2024. RCB does not have even one experienced spinner in the setup.
Therefore, even a player like Shakib, who might come cheap, could be a decent buy for RCB. Apart from his bowling, Shakib would also give batting services, which would further improve the depth of the squad. That said, Shakib’s availability is always a concern. If he is fully committed, RCB can try to sign him.
3) Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. With most of the experienced leg-spinners already taken, RCB do not have too many options in this regard.
Hence, they could target Rashid, at least, as an option to have in the team. Moreover, the likes of Mo Bobat and Andy Flower have worked with him in the past. Therefore, there is a chance that they could sign him for the franchise.
