Unlike the previous generation, it would now be hard to reach milestones in ODIs. That has more to do with the number of 50-over games that get played now. Recently, Rohit Sharma completed 10K runs in ODIs and for him, as well, it took more than a decade. It might take another decade for the next Indian batter to reach this milestone. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three current Indian batters who can score 10000 runs in ODIs.
1) Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer‘s best format seems to be the 50-over game. While the pace at which he plays suits this format, his strenth against spin also helps him here.
He is also someone who still has quite a few years left in his career. Yes, he will have his struggles, especially overseas, but if he can realize his potential, he can surely hit the mark.
2) Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill is one of the current Indian batters who can score 10000 runs in ODIs. It would be a big surprise if Shubman Gill does not reach the milestone. He is a generational batting talent from India and is expected to score these runs within the next decade.
Gill also has everything going his way to accomplish this milestone. He did not take long to score 1000 runs in ODIs and if he retains the form, he might break a few records on the way to the milestone.
3) Rishabh Pant
Currently out of the Indian Team due to his fitness, every Indian fan will hope that Rishabh Pant will return to the squad as the same batter he went out. If that happens, he can surely score 10000 runs in ODIs.
Yes, he might play a lot in the lower middle-order but it’s his strength to score runs in the end overs. Just like MS Dhoni did it, even Pant can achieve the milestone.
