Mumbai Indians owners have been successful in franchises apart from their main team, as well. Recently, MI Emirates won the International League T20 Tournament. In the coming years, Mumbai Indians could also target some of the stars who currently represent the owners in different nations. On that note, here, we take a look at three cricketers from other MI franchises whom Mumbai Indians could target in future for IPL.

1) Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan was one of the first picks for MI Cape Town in the SA20 League. He was also appointed the captain of the season. In 2024, he could not play because of an injury.

Rashid Khan is an elite T20 performer and it would not be a surprise if Mumbai Indians somehow get him in the coming years. Currently, Rashid plays for Gujarat Titans.

2) Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran is one of the cricketers from other MI franchises whom Mumbai Indians could target in future for IPL. The West Indian cricketer has been terrific for MI Emirates so far. While he captained them to victories in both editions, he has also been excellent with the bat.

Pooran is a left-handed middle-order batter and also an experienced keeper. He ticks multiple boxes needed for any T20 side. Pooran is a beast against spin and is improving his game against pace, as well. Therefore, the current LSG player would be a top pick for any team.

3) Kagiso Rabada

Mumbai Indians always have the strategy of two overseas fast bowlers. For IPL 2024, these two spots could go to Dilshan Madushanka, Gerald Coetzee or Nuwan Thushara.

In the future, MI might want a more experienced name. Hence, they could try to get Kagiso Rabada, who currently plays for MI Cape Town. He would be a top pick because he is an all-phase bowler and would complement Jasprit Bumrah very well.
