It is yet another disappointing tournament for Pakistan. One of the main reasons for their failure has been the lack of consistency at the management level. There are frequent changes in coaches, which is affecting the direction of the squad. Now, the management must seriously invest in a coach who can lead the side for at least the next five years. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three candidates who can be long-term Head Coaches for Pakistan.
1) Shane Watson
Shane Watson was reportedly offered the role of a Head Coach by the Pakistan management. However, the former Australian all-rounder was not able to take up the offer.
That said, considering the age and skills of Watto as a coach, he would be the perfect candidate to become the next Head Coach of Pakistan. However, that will take a lot of convincing to make it happen.
2) Jonathan Trott
Jonathan Trott is a part of this list of candidates who can be long-term Head Coaches for Pakistan. Now that he has done well for Afghanistan, Trott will look at the next step of his career.
Teams such as India and Australia might not have a vacancy for him. England is possible but Mathew Mott might stay until the next year’s Champions Trophy. Hence, if Trott is approached for the Pakistan job, he can take it up as it will be a challenge and also a firm addition to his CV.
3) Mike Hesson
Mike Hesson is one of the best strategists in the game. Already, in the PSL, he had a stunning season recently by winning the trophy.
Pakistan could consider him as the next Head Coach. For Hesson, as well, coaching a popular cricketing nation could be a good challenge. Therefore, the Kiwi is on this list.
