It will be interesting to see whom Royal Challengers Bangalore would play at No.7. They would need a big-hitter and at the same time, this player must provide contributions to the bowling department, as well. Balance is needed for RCB and hence, they would be wary of their targets for the auctions. Here, we take a look at three all-rounders RCB could target in IPL 2024 Auctions.
Note: All-rounders have been considered based on the IPL 2024 Auctions official list.
1) Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur at No.7 would actually be a decent fit for RCB. As per reports, RCB was looking to trade in Shardul Thakur from KKR a few weeks ago. This means that they are interested in him.
At Chinnaswamy, Shardul would become expensive. However, at some other venues, he could be useful. Plus, if he can bat well, as an Indian all-rounder, he would help the team a lot.
2) Gerald Coetzee
Gerald Coetzee is one of the all-rounders RCB could target in IPL 2024 Auctions. While everyone is aware of Coetzee as a pacer, not many know that he is a decent batter, as well.
Yes, he may not be the No.7 batter that teams are looking for but for the No.8 role, he is perfect. RCB could rely on him to extend their batting depth. Plus, more importantly, they need a bowler of his calibre and hence, Coetzee could be one of the main targets for RCB.
3) Hrithik Shokeen
Interestingly, RCB does not have an Indian spin-bowling all-rounder in the squad. This is an attribute that is a must for every team in the IPL.
Therefore, RCB could think about signing Hrithik Shokeen. He is a decent right-arm off-spinner and also renders batting depth. Hrithik is young and still has time to improve his game. Therefore, his signing makes sense for the franchise.
