Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and will look to further improve the squad at the upcoming auctions. As we have seen in the past, CSK is a franchise that likes its all-rounders. Yet again, MS Dhoni and co. could go behind some talented all-rounders. They have the purse to pursue anyone they are interested in. Here, we take a look at the list of three all-rounders CSK could target in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Wanindu Hasaranga
It won’t be a surprise if CSK goes for Wanindu Hasaranga in the auctions. A quality leg-spinner at Chepauk could wreak havoc and hence, Wani could be on the target list.
While he is yet to find form with the bat in IPL, he is perfectly capable of doing so. Under MS Dhoni, it is Wani’s best chance of doing well with the willow.
2) Travis Head
Travis Head is a good option that CSK can target in IPL 2024 Auctions. In the semi-final of the 2023 ODI World Cup, it was his bowling performance that surprised many. In fact, it helped Australia win that game. Now, Head can be a good backup or even a replacement for Moeen Ali.
Although he is a part-time keeper, it is not sure if he does the job now. Nevertheless, he is a quality cricketer who can offer services to various departments. Hence, he is on this list.
3) Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell is one of the all-rounders CSK could target in IPL 2024 Auctions. While everyone knows about Daryl Mitchell’s batting abilities, he is also a decent medium-pace bowler. At Chepauk, it may not be surprising if he can pull off two or three overs.
With the bat, though, Daryl would be a perfect fit at No.5. While he is good against pace, he has shown excellence against spin, as well. He is also experienced and would suit the philosophy of CSK.
