Cricketers coming from the same family is not a new thing in the Indian Premier League. Every season, there are at least a few examples. In IPL 2024, as well, we would see examples. Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023. The management was replaced and their journey has also started in a difficult way with the auctions not happening as intended. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two relations of popular cricketers whom RCB signed for IPL 2024.

1) Tom Curran – Brother of Sam Curran

A big surprise by RCB at the auctions was the signing of Tom Curran. While Tom has improved his batting in recent times, with the bowl, he still has some areas for improvement. In IPL, he has not found success while in Chinnaswamy Stadium, it could be even harder for him to taste success.

It appears that this signing was a direct influence of the new management consisting of Mo Bobat and Andy Flower. It needs to be seen if Tom can do well in IPL 2024 for RCB.

2) Mayank Dagar – Nephew of Virender Sehwag

Mayank Dagar is one of the relations of popular cricketers whom RCB signed for IPL 2024. Before the auctions, RCB was involved in an interesting trade. They gave away Shahbaz Ahmed to SRH while they took Mayank Dagar from SRH. It needs to be noted that Shahbaz had a decent campaign in the last few years and it was a surprise that RCB let him go.

That said, Mayank Dagar is also a decent bowler. He is a highly fit cricketer and can also do a decent job with the willow. Interestingly, he happens to be the cousin-uncle of former India cricketer Virender Sehwag. If Mayank does well in IPL 2024, it could help him go far in his career.
