A fairly experienced candidate for Afghanistan, he was named the skipper of the side for the 2019 ODI World Cup. Cut to four years later, he is playing in the Asian Games.
After the 2019 ODI WC, Rashid Khan replaced him as the skipper. It was a forgettable tournament for the team after losing all the games. However, Afghanistan now has a chance to win the Gold Medal in Asian Games 2023. Naib would be an important member if the Afghans have to realize their dream.
2) Mosaddek Hossain
An all-rounder who has played all the formats of the game for Bangladesh, the experienced cricketer was named in the Bangladesh side for the Asian Games. Surprisingly, it was not long ago that he led the Bangladesh senior in a T20I game against Zimbabwe. It happened in 2022.
That said, competition is intense in the Bangladesh Team. Mehidy Hasan’s fine form has made the path difficult for other all-rounders. Hossain will now target to win a medal for his nation at the Asian Games.
