The RTM Card will be key for teams to make the best use of the six retentions they have been given. Each team will look to make strategic use of it. CSK has a few sets of players who may not warrant a retention but are worthy enough to come back to the squad via the RTM Route. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two players CSK might not retain but could buy back using the RTM Card.
1) Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra is a future superstar and CSK might regret it if they release him now. However, they have a tough decision to make as Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube and Matheesha Pathirana are also very important. There is also MS Dhoni who can be retained now. Therefore, Rachin Ravindra may not be retained before the auctions but he could be a priority for the side in the bidding event.
Rachin Ravindra can help the side for the next decade or so. He is already used to playing a lot in India. There is also his bowling which is getting further developed. He already enjoys a cult following. Hence, CSK fans will be happy to have him back.
2) Devon Conway
Devon Conway is one of the players CSK might not retain but could buy back using the RTM Card. The Kiwi opener did not play in IPL 2024. However, he was one of the key reasons why the team won the trophy back in IPL 2023.
Conway is an under-rated cricketer and perfectly fits the philosophy of CSK. He is good against spin and on his day, he can single-handedly take the game away from the opposition. Since he can also keep wickets, he would be a top option for CSK to have in the team.
