Will Jacks has left Royal Challengers Bengaluru to join the England Team for the Pakistan series. It is a big blow because Will Jacks was settled at No.3 and was also doing well. Now, in a crucial game, CSK will have to adjust with a new option at the vital No.3 role. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two options RCB could try at No.3 in the absence of Will Jacks against CSK.
1) Mahipal Lomror
Mahipal Lomror has struggled in a lower middle-order role in IPL 2024. He started the season well but has not been able to do well in the recent games. RCB will look to not make too many changes to the batting order. Hence, Rajat Patidar might not come in at No.3 against CSK.
In a tactical move, Mahipal Lomror could be asked to bat at No.3. Ravindra Jadeja will be a dangerous opposition bowler for RCB. He has done well and hence, they will be wary of his challenge. Mahipal can be used to negate this threat. If he can strike a few big hits, it could disturb the flow of Jaddu and that will help RCB to maintain the momentum in the batting attack.
2) Glenn Maxwell
Glenn Maxwell is one of the options RCB could try at No.3 in the absence of Will Jacks against CSK. The Australian veteran has struggled this season. He has hardly scored any runs and is also lacking confidence. However, he is the only other overseas batter left in the side. To not make too many changes, Maxi might just slot in at No.3.
Maxwell is certainly capable of handling this role. He just needs a few good shots to get his mojo back. If that happens, he surely would be a great addition to the side and the perfect replacement for Will Jacks.
