2 former RCB players whom Daniel Vettori coached and might target for SRH

Daniel Vettori spent a long time as the Head Coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was at the helm from 2014 to 2018. During this period, the Kiwi coached a number of players. Now, Vettori is back in the IPL as the Head Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He might target a few players who played for him back in his RCB days. Here, we take a look at the list of two former RCB players whom Daniel Vettori coached and might target for SRH.

1) Mitchell Starc

After his RCB stint, Starc has not played in the Indian Premier League. While there are question marks over his spot in the T20I XI, Starc can use the IPL to make a strong statement. If he is available, many franchises would pursue him and SRH could be one of them.

Marco Jansen has been inconsistent, so far, for SRH. If the management wants to add some experience here, they can opt for someone like Starc. The Aussie bowling alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be a good combination during the powerplay.

2) Travis Head

Travis Head is one of the former RCB players whom Daniel Vettori coached and might target for SRH. SRH’s middle-order is too right-handed and in this era of matchups, this could be a big disadvantage.

There are chances that SRH might release Harry Brook back to the auctions. If this happens, they can search for another suitable middle-order option and target Travis Head. The Aussie cricketer was part of RCB in the past. He is in fine form right now and would be an exciting option to have. He is versatile in the sense that he can also keep wickets and bowl some off-spin. In recent months, Head has also opened the batting for Australia and this is also something SRH can use if they sign him.
