Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were involved in the trade for Cameron Green before the IPL 2024 Auctions. Even during the auction, RCB was interested in a few former Mumbai Indians cricketers. On that note, here, we take a look at two former Mumbai Indians players whom RCB signed in IPL 2024 Auctions.

1) Alzarri Joseph

It was at Mumbai Indians that Alzarri Joseph first made a name in the IPL. He then broke the record for the best figures in the IPL with a sensational bowling performance. Later, he had to face injury problems and Mumbai Indians even supported him during that phase. However, they had to release him and in the last two seasons, he has had a crucial role to play at Gujarat Titans.

For RCB now, he would be the lead overseas bowler. The franchise spent in excess of INR 11 Cr for the West Indian pacer. He will be expected to don the role of an enforcer and death bowler. It would be a hard task for the player because he will play most games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is hard for the bowlers.

2) Swapnil Singh

Swapnil Singh is one of the former Mumbai Indians players whom RCB signed in IPL 2024 Auctions. The all-rounder made his debut in domestic cricket at the age of 14 for Baroda. As a teenager, he was selected to the Mumbai Indians squad for IPL 2008. Further, he played for teams such as Punjab Kings but Swapnil could not make a name in the IPL.

Nevertheless, RCB is short of spinners and Swapnil is a useful addition to the side. He could play as an all-rounder at No.7 and this could help the balance of the side. At venues when spinners are needed, Swapnil could even come as an Impact Player. Hence, he is actually an important part of the side for RCB.
