2 CSK players who could decline retention before IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings will have some straightforward decisions to make before the next season of IPL. At the auctions, they will have to work a lot on their domestic contingent. They must also hire some fine overseas players. However, there could be a few players who share a different vision. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two CSK players who could decline retention before IPL 2025.

1) Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the CSK players who could decline retention before IPL 2025. The Indian all-rounder would have probably wanted one more chance to prove his captaincy skills. However, CSK already entered the next era by giving Ruturaj Gaikwad the opportunity as the captain.

Jaddu would still be a desired name at many franchises. In fact, a few teams might even offer him captaincy. Plus, Jaddu might want to have a different challenge to face at this stage of his career. Considering his love-hate relationship with the CSK fans, anything is possible, especially if MS Dhoni retires from the tournament as a player. Therefore, Jaddu is on this list.

2) Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra is a player for the future. Yes, he had an average outing in IPL 2024 but considering it was his first season, it was impressive to see him dominate some phases of the game. Going forward, Rachin will only go from strength to strength. If he adds more value to his bowling, he will be unstoppable at a venue like the Chepauk.

However, if CSK will retain Rachin, it will be at a low salary. And also, Rachin will be retained only after Devon Conway. Rachin would ideally want more opportunities as an opener and with Devon there, he would not get that. Also, the money aspect would also play a big role here.
