2 changes South Africa might make for their next game against England

The Netherlands clinched another upset in the recent months. They defeated South Africa, who had been flying high ever since the start of the tournament. The Proteas will now need to pull up their socks and they need to do that quickly. Their next game will be against England in Mumbai. Some changes are expected in the playing XI. Here, we take a look at two changes South Africa might make for their next game against England.

1) Tabraiz Shamsi for Lungi Ngidi

Tabraiz Shamsi for Lungi Ngidi is one of the changes South Africa might make for their next game against England. In Mumbai, a leg-spinner might be required to control things in the middle-order. Also, the South African bowling attack anyway needs variety.

England is a team that could fall victim to an unorthodox spinner. Tabraiz is not exactly unorthodox but he does have some tricks that could trouble the best batters. England is also under pressure and facing Shamsi might be a difficult task than facing a pacer, especially with the ball coming quickly to the bat.

2) Andile Phehlukwayo for Gerald Coetzee

Gerald Coetzee is an exciting prospect but he went for some runs against the Netherlands. He is young, and inexperienced, and if things do not go his way in Mumbai, the Wankhede Stadium will be a bad place for him. England, if they get it right, might trouble the quick bowler.

It would be equally risky to have Phehlukwayo in the playing XI. However, it needs to be noted that he adds some batting depth, something that could be desired on a good batting wicket. It would be a big risk to expect the all-rounder to bowl 10 overs but it would be worth taking, considering the wicket and the opposition. Hence, he is on this list.
