1) Babar Azam at No.3
Babar Azam has just not been able to take advantage of the powerplay. Also, Usman Khan at No.3 has not been good till now. It is now time for Babar to get back to the No.3 role. There would be multiple advantages to this move.
A player like Saim Ayub as the opener will help Pakistan do well in the powerplay. Even if a quick wicket falls, there is Babar Azam to steady things. If Pakistan get off to a good start, Babar has the ability to consolidate the good start. Hence, his experience would be handy in all the cases.
2) Try Abrar Ahmed in the playing XI
Trying Abrar Ahmed in the playing XI is one of the bold calls Pakistan must take to survive in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The spinners of Pakistan have been poor till now. It was the pacers who did the job for them in the game against India. Shadab Khan was not at all used by the skipper.
That said, in the next games, Abrar Ahmed deserves a chance. He adds something different to the combination. It could be a bold move because they will have to drop one of their all-rounders or their pacers. It could bite back but if Abrar does well, the team will win in the middle overs.
