Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first. The hosts took the bowling attack to the cleaners with counter-attacking approach, courtesy of batting masterclass from Yashasvi Jaiswal who inflicted quite a lot of damage on CSK.

Whatever the left-handed batter touched turned to gold as the Royals largely benefitted from his services. He was also the pick of the batters for the Royals as he scored 77 off 43 balls before he was dismissed by Tushar Deshpande.

The young southpaw constructed his innings with the help of eight boundaries and four hits over the fence at a sensational strike rate of 179.07. In the end, the Royals posted a colossal total of 202/5 in their quota of 20 overs.

Chennai Super Kings’ star opening batsman Devon Conway has been in scintillating form in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Notably, he is also the third-leading run-scorer this season.

The left-handed batter scored 322 runs in eight innings this season. He was expected to dictate the terms and dominate the proceedings from the get-go against the Royals.

Needless to say, he ended up mounting pressure on himself as he consumed too many dot balls inside the powerplay overs. He scored eight runs off 16 balls at a strike rate of 50 and was dismissed by Adam Zampa.
